Zlet Converter Docs

Learn how to add PDF and Office files, convert them to Markdown, interpret quality verdicts, review findings and export the result.

Zlet Converter / Getting started

Convert your first document with Zlet Converter

Add one or more documents, start conversion, check the quality verdict, review any findings, then open or export the generated Markdown.

Public Beta

This documentation describes the current Public Beta workflow. Windows is the primary target; other platform availability should only be assumed when packages and acceptance coverage are published.

1. Download and open Converter

Download Zlet Converter from the product page, install it for your supported desktop platform, then open the app.

Open /converter →

2. Add files or a folder

Use Add files, Add folder, or drag and drop. The queue should keep every item visible, including unsupported or failed files.

Ready Queued Converting Converted Needs review

3. Convert

Start conversion from the queue. Progress belongs to the conversion job only. A successful conversion does not automatically mean the result passed quality review.

Add → Convert → Check quality → Review → Export

4. Check quality

After conversion, read the quality verdict separately from the conversion status. The important public states are Not evaluated, OK, Needs review and Failed.

OKNo blocking issue was found.
Needs reviewThe conversion finished, but evidence deserves inspection.
FailedQuality evaluation could not produce a usable result.
Not evaluatedNo quality verdict exists yet.

5. Review before export

Open a file when the verdict is unclear or problematic. Review should separate the original, Markdown output, structure and quality evidence instead of collapsing everything into one score.

6. Export

When the result is acceptable, open or export the generated Markdown. Keep the original file available when you need to resolve a quality finding.

Troubleshooting

If a file is unsupported, invalid, duplicated, cancelled or fails during conversion, it should remain visible with an explicit state. Recovery starts from knowing exactly which file failed and why.
